A headline flashed across my news feed this morning about a “victim” whose Las Vegas
vacation was “ruined” because people kept “mistaking him for David Beckham.” Upon further
investigation of this person’s mug shot, this headline became even more hilarious. I mean,
people do smoke a lot of funny things in Vegas and anything is possible when it’s dark, but I
think there’s a greater likelihood of someone mistaking me for Shohei Ohtani. It’s SO
INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING when people mistake you for a famous athlete or thirst-trap
celebrity…people can be such jerks.
But I think it’s important to be recognized for CHARACTER. For consistency. For faithfulness. For
integrity. As someone who speaks the truth in love rather than purveys sycophantic platitudes.
As someone you can depend upon when the chips are down. And as someone who always
leaves you better than he or she found you. Because long-term, people will eventually find out
if you’re masquerading as a fraudulent friend, even in Vegas
