Recently, an event called the Enhanced Games garnered a bit of publicity. Since the rules for International Competition (such as the Olympic Games) regarding Performance Enhancing Drugs (cheating) are felt to be somewhat restrictive (for those who want to cheat), this event permitted the participants to indulge in all sorts of magic sauce and anabolic agents (Cheat Codes). No drug tests, no problem! You can pee without paranoia!
So every world record was SHATTERED by these unencumbered athletes, right? Actually, none of the “Enhanced Athletes” even came close to breaking the official Olympic Records in Track and Field or weightlifting! One swimmer did break the World Record in the 50-meter Freestyle…but that carries about as much hype as graduating Valedictorian of your Homeschool Class…and cheating to do it. I bet his parents are proud!
But don’t worry…on the Enhanced Games website, you have the opportunity to mimic the best athletes in the world people who aren’t content with their current state of physical performance by purchasing various peptides, anabolic agents, and proprietary blends that promote “recovery,” “autophagy” and other words that people like to say when they want to take your money. You, too, can attempt to replace the tried-and-true cocktail of Genetics and Training with an assortment of Magic Bullets! Although you’re more likely to fill your liver with irreparable holes with these agents than fill your trophy room with medals. (However, I’ll admit the “I Am Enhanced” t-shirt is pretty awesome and I would possibly even wear it in lieu of my “Control Your Insulin, Control Your Life” bro tank. I would almost be guaranteed to bench press more than even the really strong gals at the gym with that shirt)!
All of the things that claim to enhance your physical health are merely catalysts to help you Sleep, Move, and Not Eat Garbage. Some are useful, and not all of them are “cheating.” But you’d be better off buying the Enhanced T-shirt and proceeding to the nearest gym than spending thousands of dollars on Enhanced.com. And you’d probably benefit the most by being content with what you’ve been given and simply trying to be a good steward of your faculties.
