When it comes to dietary conversations, it’s popular to condemn “processed food.” However, some “natural” products might actually be lethal (just ask Cousin Dennis about that delicious-looking mushroom that landed him in the hospital last summer). And some degree of processing might actually eliminate otherwise harmful bacteria from certain products. Conversely, no one ever believes that consuming “ultra-processed foods” like Pringles and doughnuts are part of the solution to America’s Metabolic Crisis…Little Debbie causes Big Problems.
Similarly, “processing” life events can actually be useful, particularly when you’ve been hurt. Impulsively resorting to a “natural” response can lead to actions you later regret. However, “ultra-processing” these circumstances can lead to perseveration, rumination, and becoming “stuck” in a perpetual cycle of victimhood.
So if you’ve gone through a trial, take some time to pray and process…but then press on![]()
