When selecting a mascot or a favorite animal, it’s common to choose a creature known for ferocity, power, strength, and dignity.

But tigers, lions, and bears are pretty cliche. And when it comes to birds, eagles and hawks are criminally overused.

So why not consider the quail? It’s social, scurries around at impressive speeds, and isn’t so insecure that it NEEDS to fly all the time…but it can!

And if the topknot on the quail’s head is, indeed, a sign of physical health and genetic fitness…well, I’m feeling pretty good about my marriage right now
