“Dad, I think I just had my most brilliant idea ever!”

Given that my daughter’s bustling brain is perpetually percolating with interminable innovation, I figured this was going to be good!

“I’m just going to wear sandals and Crocs when I’m older!  That way, I won’t ever have to learn to tie my shoes!”

Honestly surprised that her “Brilliant Idea” fell into the undignified bucket of Avoiding Practical Application of Fine Motor Skills, I countered with this proposition:

“You could still learn to tie your shoes AND wear sandals or Crocs depending on the situation.”

She frowned. “That’s not a very good idea. I’ll just have to marry someone who knows how to tie shoes.  And of course loves Jesus and loves me.”

Eligible bachelors, you’ve got your work cut out for you…we’ve got some pretty high standards around here. And if I walk her down the aisle someday and she’s wearing Crocs, you’ll at least know that her husband satisfied the most important two out of the three criteria😊
