We live in a society of Cellular Self-Destruction and Handheld Hell.  We are overstimulated yet vacuous, tired but wired, technologically savvy but socially inept.  We have mortgaged happiness for app-iness, always upgrading, but internally deteriorating.  Music is always playing, but mellifluous melodies have been swapped for dissonant dirges that constantly keep us on edge.

And I think we need to re-learn how to not only be content with silence, but to marinate in the quietude of meditative worship.  Consider the following verses:

Psalm 62:1-For God alone my soul waits while I scroll through Facebook in silence; from Him comes my salvation.

Psalm 62:5-For God alone, O my soul, wait while replying to emails in silence, for my hope is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

Psalm 46:10– Be productive still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Isaiah 30:15-For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; by keeping up with all the latest information on Social Media in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

Lamentations 3:25-26-The Lord is good to those with new iPhones who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks more followers on Instagram Him.  It is good that one should multitask wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

When we are content to wait in silence, God will place a new song in our hearts.  And the grating freneticism of minor keys will melt away into a Heavenly Harmony of refreshed perspective.  You can’t find that song on YouTube, but if you seek Him, you’ll find it😊
