Darrell (pronounced duh-RELL) is a super nice guy, but he’s clearly on the Struggle Bus when it comes to his physical health. He’s got diabetes, high blood pressure, gout, a weird rash, and about 19 other currently undiagnosed conditions. He also has recently increased his cigarette usage to 2 packs per day. He’s already on 12 medications, but his doctor is encouraging him to take another cholesterol-lowering modification…that should be helpful!

Kylo (don’t call him Kyle) and Ganelle (with a G…don’t even think about using a J) have almost as many issues with their marriage as Darrell has with his metabolic health. They refuse to go to counseling and they rarely even talk anymore. Kylo is spending all his time at “work,” and Ganelle is feeling overwhelmed by essentially being a single parent to their three young children. On the rare occasions that they do actually have a conversation, the “D” word usually abruptly ends any further dialogue. So they’re going to have another baby! That should fix everything!

Certain medications can be helpful. Kids are a wonderful blessing. But addressing the root cause of any disease state, existential crisis, or conflict is essential…otherwise, you’re merely rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship. Ultimately, you need a Captain to guide your vessel through the storms of life, and it’s only with His guidance that you can change your course and navigate the seemingly impossible😊
