Long before “The Home Security System and the Lipid Neighborhood,” there were stories about Comb the Hamburger Bun Alien.

Why would a Hamburger Bun Alien share a name with a common grooming tool? Because beneath the blonde-bowl cut of Comb’s creator resided a unique mind…a mind bursting with creativity but simultaneously curious about human nature. A mind that pondered the dosing protocols of charisma necessary for turning the non-sensical and un-ironic into unquestioned art. But although apt to engage in benign social experiments, this mind simply wanted others to experience the continual wonder of creating stories that ultimately would enhance the human experience on this side of Heaven. He felt it’s what the ultimate Creator would want.

And so Comb Stories became an ongoing source of laughter and joy for kids in Meridian, Idaho in the 1990s. For years, Comb expertly vanquished hordes of Psycho Toilets and, at one point, even saved the world from a sociopathic orange gangster named O.J. But in 2001, after defeating the deranged chiropractor Dr. Discomfort and his henchmen, the Spazzems, Comb went quiet.

But the boy with the blonde-bowl cut glowed up enough to get married to a beautiful, half-Sicilian, half-Puerto Rican (Ital-urican) Princess. And, as married couples often do, they had a child. And one day, this child discovered the Comb Stories that had been buried in Grandma’s closet for decades.

The child wasn’t super interested in Dad’s books about Cholesterol and Cardiovascular Disease. But she really wanted to know if Comb could make a comeback.

Creativity never died over those 25 years.  And neither did Comb. And as you’ll soon see, despite the best efforts of Screena Vortex and her sycophantic slaves, you can never kill creativity.

Comb is back!  But he was never really gone.

Stay tuned for the epic collaboration between Dad and Daughter in a Comb Story 25 years in the making: Screena Vortex and the (Almost) Death of Creativity.
